Several verbs of the second inflection-class (IC2, Ralli 2000˙ Ralli 2005) display an Ancient Greek form of the verbs in -eo in the 2nd and 3rd persons of the present tense (e.g. apadís ‘you reply’, apadí ‘(s)he replies’, instead of the Standard Modern Greek forms apadás, apadá).

E.g. mí-batís més-ta nirá, θa mʎásin ta pudárʝa s.
min-patás mésa-sta nerá, θa muʎásun ta podárʝa su.
‘Don't walk in the water, your feet will get wet’.
